🎉 The Commonwealth Games 2026 have officially begun in Glasgow, but for the first time in 72 years, you’ll need to change the channel to catch the action! 📺
In a historic turn, the BBC won’t be airing live coverage or highlights this year. Instead, all the thrilling moments will be exclusively on TNT Sports. You can stream a whopping 600 hours of live coverage and every thrilling medal session with a subscription to HBO Max or tune into TNT Sports via Prime Video.
But don’t worry if you’re not subscribed! Channel 5 is stepping up to bring you a free-to-air daily highlights show. Tune in every evening at 10:30 PM BST to catch all the exciting results of the day!
For those of you who love a bit of variety, BBC Alba will be showing some live events for free, so there’s still a way to catch some real-time action without the paywall.
While it’s a bit sad to see the BBC’s long-standing tradition with the Commonwealth Games come to an end, this fresh broadcasting approach ensures you won’t miss the excitement, keeping it all accessible with just a little bit of channel surfing. 🏅
Whether you’re tuning in live or catching up with highlights, get ready to cheer on your favourite athletes as they go for glory on this international stage. Let the games begin! 🎽🥇
