đź’” Heartbreaking Story: Ten days ago, Nicky Hillier thought she was battling a cold. Her plans were cancelled and after five days of fever, a call to 111 suggested paracetamol. Little did anyone know, it was meningitis.

Nicky’s sister, Amanda, warns us all: “Throw that advice in the bin if you’re as ill as she was.” Doctors confirmed it was bacterial meningitis, leaving Nicky in a two-day coma. Now, she’s facing life with hearing loss, Bell’s palsy, and mobility challenges.
Her neighbour’s vigilance—spotting closed curtains—paired with her ex-husband’s quick thinking likely saved her life. Amanda recalls, “We were told to prepare ourselves. Thinking about what she’s going through, I can’t begin to explain.”

Post-coma, Nicky’s struggling but determined to bounce back. “Getting her face on every day is important to her,” Amanda shares. But the journey’s far from over.
A GoFundMe has been set up to support her. Let’s rally behind Nicky’s recovery and raise awareness on this crucial health issue. 🙏 [Donate Here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/nickys-story] đź’™
