🌞 **Prepare for a Scorcher, Wales!** 🌞

Hold onto your hats, because it looks like another heatwave might be brewing for us! 🌡️ As temperatures are set to soar to a sizzling 28°C in some areas, it’s time to dust off those summer outfits once again.

According to the latest forecasts, east Wales—especially places like Monmouth, Newport, Chepstow, and Wrexham—will be the hotspots this week. From Tuesday, things start heating up with 26°C on the cards by 4pm, and by Wednesday, you might want to have a fan ready as temperatures peak.
Now, for it to be officially declared a ‘heatwave’, we’d need three straight days hitting at least 25°C. It’s mostly Eastern Wales that’s facing the potential heatwave, while mid Wales will enjoy slightly cooler climes in the mid-20s, and our friends near the western coasts might only reach the low 20s. But don’t worry, cool relief is expected as temps might drop by next Thursday.
With July already running 3°C above the average, Wales is getting its fair share of what feels like endless summer days. But it’s not all fun in the sun. The lingering dry spell is causing concern for droughts and wildfires. Just last week, about 220 hectares of dry land caught fire in Blaenavon, and North Wales has seen its share of moorland fires too. đźš’ The fire services urge everyone to hold off on lighting barbecues or campfires in the countryside.
As the sweltering days continue, let’s enjoy what we can but stay safe, hydrated, and cool. And remember to take extra care if you’re out in nature—our dry landscapes need some TLC!
Stay tuned for more updates, and let’s keep fingers crossed for cooler breezes later next week! 🤞🌀
