🎱 Snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan hints at retirement plans! 🎱

As one of the greatest to ever hold a cue, Ronnie O’Sullivan has dominated snooker for over 30 years. Now at 50, the Rocket is feeling the weight of time and has set a potential timeline for his snooker career. Holding steady at world ranking No. 14, Ronnie is racing against the clock to grab an eighth World Championship title. But if he slips out of the top 16, thus needing to qualify, he admits it could be game over.

Fresh off a fantastic win against 18-year-old sensation Liu Linhao at the Shanghai Masters, Ronnie confessed, “If I drop out of the top 16, that’s me done. I won’t be playing qualifiers.” He aims to continue playing for two more years and then reassess in 2028. Could this be his swan song?

“Winning another World Championship would be incredible,” he mused, adding he’s determined to give it his best shot in the next couple of seasons. Yet, with a rising tide of young, fierce talent, particularly from the Far East, the challenge grows tougher each day.
He candidly shared, “It’s hard to keep up with these young players. I’m 50 now and after just two hours of playing, I need a lie down. It’s mentally draining, and watching their energy on the table, it’s tough not to see the writing on the wall.”
Ronnie is realistic about his prospects, understanding that the mental demands of the game are taxing with age. Despite the wear and tear, he’s content with his illustrious career. “I’m pleased with my career. I’m happy with how things have gone,” he reflects.
Whatever the future holds, Ronnie’s legacy as a seven-time world champion and 23-time Triple Crown winner is unmatched. Let’s savour these next two incredible seasons with a true icon of the sport! 🌟🎱
