Gordon Ramsay found himself absolutely stunned by a bold move from Adam Peaty, now his son-in-law. The Olympic champion decided to take on the Ramsay surname after marrying Gordon’s daughter, Holly, last December. As if that wasn’t enough excitement, the couple is also expecting their first child this year! 🎉
The night before tying the knot, Adam and Holly broke the news about their new shared last name to their families. Gordon was floored but described the decision as a “wonderful suggestion” and a refreshingly modern choice.
But not everything has been smooth sailing for Adam. The swimmer is currently embroiled in a family drama, not on speaking terms with his mum, Caroline. Reports hinted that Adam’s parents were deliberately left out of the wedding. Gordon, however, was quick to set the record straight, explaining how they’d tried to include Adam’s family, even sending a chauffeur-driven car to escort them to the engagement party.
Despite personal challenges, Adam is back in action at the Commonwealth Games, where he recently bagged two bronze medals. However, he caused quite a stir by downplaying their significance, saying, “It’s just a piece of metal.” Yikes! It seems Adam hinted that family problems might be affecting his performance.
