Hey folks, here’s a jaw-dropping update on notorious Jack Shepherd! Known as the ‘speedboat killer’ for the tragic accident on the Thames, Shepherd is back in the headlines after admitting to assaulting his girlfriend. The assaults included hitting her with barbecue tongs and occurred last year, leading to his recall to custody.

Shepherd, 38, has entered guilty pleas via a video link from prison, admitting to causing actual bodily harm and damaging property. The assaults date back to February and June 2025, with incidents involving physical violence and property damage.
For those unfamiliar, Shepherd was originally sentenced in 2018 to 10 years for the manslaughter of 24-year-old Charlotte Brown during their first date, when his speedboat capsized. After fleeing to Georgia during his trial, he was extradited back to the UK and briefly released on licence in early 2024.

Now, he’s admitted to these new charges just ahead of his September sentencing, with the court requesting a detailed report on his behaviour while he was out. Shepherd’s actions have been shocking, and his previous attempts to avoid justice only add to this complex and tragic saga.

Stay tuned for the September hearing where we’ll see what’s next for Shepherd. His current release date on the manslaughter sentence is set for January 2029, but with these new charges, everything could change.
