Sad news from Swansea as community favourite and Big Issue seller, Liam Sean Harmer, has tragically passed away. Liam was found at his home in Elphin Gardens, Townhill after a fire broke out. Although the cause of the fire hasn’t been confirmed, his death is not being treated as suspicious.
This well-loved local figure was known for selling the Big Issue at Sketty Cross, where he touched many lives with his kind heart and warm smile. Shoppers stopping by during any weather knew they’d be greeted by his friendly face. After his untimely passing on July 14, the community has come together to honour him, leaving floral tributes at his usual spot.
Friends and customers remember Liam not just for his commitment to his work, but for his passion for science fiction. It’s touching to see tributes include images of him in his Star Trek uniform, accompanied by the iconic Vulcan blessing: “Live long and prosper.”
Tom Watts, from the Big Issue, voiced what many in the community also felt, highlighting Liam as the kindest seller he’d ever known.
A heartfelt reminder of the impact and connection a single individual can make in their community. Let’s all take a moment to remember Liam and the warmth he brought to so many lives. Rest in peace, Liam Harmer. 🌹
