Ryan Hole, who received the dreaded call about the fire, said, “We’re determined to get Verdi’s back to its brilliant best as soon as possible.” However, with busy summer months upon us, the timing couldn’t be worse.

Frequent patrons like Elaine and Bernard Conners, heartbroken by the closure, said, “We come almost every other day. We don’t know where we’ll go instead.” Angela Lang from Swansea echoed the sentiment: “It’s very sad. We love it here.”

The fire service was quick to respond, and though it was primarily contained to the kitchen and toilets, the damage is significant. The main seating area suffered smoke and water damage, and parts of the roof are affected too.

The Hole family, who took over Verdi’s in 2023, express deep gratitude for the community’s support and assure everyone they’re doing everything possible to reopen soon. Let’s rally behind them and look forward to the day when Verdi’s is once again serving up joy on the Swansea seafront! Stay tuned for updates.
