According to Dyfed-Powys Police, the victim was walking along Glenalla Road at approximately 12.10am when she was confronted by an unknown man. The assailant reportedly pushed her to the ground before grabbing her handbag and fleeing the scene. Authorities have described the suspect as a man around 5ft 8in tall, slender in build, with dark hair and notably heavy eyebrows. At the time of the incident, he is believed to have been dressed in blue shorts and a navy jumper.

Investigators believe the man fled in the direction of East Gate and may have taken a path down the side of the Ffwrnes Theatre, possibly emerging onto Water Street. Officers are now combing the area for clues and asking local residents to remain vigilant.

The stolen handbag is said to be a distinctive grey leather drawstring design featuring a crocheted mandala pattern. Among the items inside were a purse, several keys, a power bank, and a tablet box containing medication. Police are urging anyone who might have noticed discarded items matching these descriptions to come forward, as finding them could prove pivotal in the investigation.

A police spokesperson emphasised their commitment to resolving the case swiftly: “We’re appealing to the public for any information that could help us trace the suspect or return the stolen items to the victim. If you saw a man running from the Glenalla Road or College Hill area around 12.10am, or found any of the described belongings, please contact us.”

In response to the robbery, officers have increased patrols in the vicinity to both gather information and provide a reassuring presence for those living and working nearby. Police have also confirmed that additional enquiries are ongoing, including the examination of available CCTV footage and door-to-door interviews with local residents.

The incident has generated concern amongst the community, coming as a reminder of the importance of vigilance, even in familiar settings. While late-night robberies in the area are rare, police stress that personal safety should always be a top priority, and urge people to take suitable precautions when walking alone at night.

Local authorities are encouraging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity, or has relevant dashcam or security camera footage, to get in touch by phoning the police on 101. Information can be shared anonymously if preferred.

Community leaders have echoed the call for witnesses, stating that sharing even the smallest detail could be instrumental in helping police identify and apprehend the perpetrator. Quick action from both the public and law enforcement is considered crucial in ensuring such incidents remain isolated.

As the investigation continues, Dyfed-Powys Police are assuring locals that every effort is being made to bring those responsible to justice, and to recover the stolen possessions. Residents are advised to stay informed through official channels for updates.
