**Five Defendants Plead Not Guilty Over Fatal Shooting of Joanne Penney in Talbot Green**
A total of five individuals have formally denied involvement in the alleged murder of Joanne Penney, a 40-year-old woman found shot dead inside a flat in Talbot Green, south Wales. Joanne Penney’s body was discovered by police on 9 March in the lounge of a flat located in Llys Illtyd, Talbot Green, at approximately 6.10pm. Each of these five has pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Also before the court were Sai Raj Manne, 25, of no fixed address, and Molly Cooper, 33, of Leicester. Both denied charges relating to participation in organised criminal activity and unlawfully possessing, purchasing, or acquiring a firearm. Their alleged involvement represents a wider web of suspected criminality currently under scrutiny by authorities.
At present, Melissa Quailey-Dashper, 39, from Leicester, did not attend the hearing and has not yet entered a plea in relation to the murder accusation. The court is expected to hear from her later this month, with a plea hearing scheduled for 11 July.
Following Monday’s session, Judge Lloyd-Clarke ordered that all defendants be remanded in custody pending further proceedings. The forthcoming trial is scheduled to commence on 20 October and is expected to last for eight weeks, underlining the complexity and seriousness of the allegations at hand.
