Here’s a story you won’t believe until you see the bruises: A giant octopus at the San Antonio Aquarium in Texas gave a six-year-old boy an unforgettable experience while visiting the touch tanks. Young Leo, as calm as ever around animals, found himself in a sticky situation when the octopus wrapped its tentacles around his arm.

Leo’s mum, Britney, shared a wild tale on TikTok about the octopus’s escape antics, describing it as “halfway out of the tank and trying to eat my son”! 😱 Thankfully, no one was harmed, but Leo has some impressive suction marks to show off to his mates.

The aquarium’s team stepped in quickly, emphasising that the octopus wasn’t being aggressive—just curious and playful. Though Britney has critiqued the aquarium’s setup and its handling of the incident, she agrees that the octopus was just being its natural, inquisitive self.

And guess who’s weighing in? PETA has urged the aquarium to release their tentacled resident back to its natural habitat or a sanctuary, following Britney’s concerns for animal welfare and public safety. 🏞️

No medical assistance was offered at the time, and Britney claims her reports to the aquarium went unanswered. But, she remains hopeful for improved conditions, giving a voice to these smart marine creatures.

What do you think? Should aquariums tweak their encounters, or is this just another wild day at the tank? Share your thoughts! 🌊🐙
