Tragic Accident in Portugal Claims Lives of British Family of Four in Rental Car Mishap

Tragic news from Portugal as a British family of four lost their lives in a devastating car crash. The family, including 20-year-old twins, were on holiday, travelling from Faro Airport to Mourão when their rental car collided head-on with another vehicle on the IP2 road near Castro Verde.

The victims have been identified as Jose Fale, his wife Maria Joao, and their sons Domingos and Afonso. Heartbreakingly, the girlfriend of one of the twins, a 19-year-old woman, also passed away. A Portuguese man, Ruben Goncalves, who was driving the other car, has been confirmed as the sixth victim.

The family was en route for a much-anticipated holiday to their roots in Mourão, the parents’ hometown near the Spanish border. Despite holding British passports, the family has strong connections to Mourão, where local officials have declared two days of mourning to honour their memory.
