A young prison officer, Megan Breen, has found herself on the wrong side of the law after confessing to an “inappropriate relationship” with an inmate in Wales. The 23-year-old initially denied the affair but has now admitted to the misconduct while employed at HMP Usk and HMP Prescoed. This development followed Breen’s change of plea concerning the illicit activities between February and May 2022. Her actions were described as a serious abuse of the public’s trust.
The court has made it clear that all sentencing options are still on the table, and Breen could be facing time behind bars when she’s sentenced next month. Despite being bailed, she’s been sternly warned about the possible repercussions of her actions.
