Attention, motorists! With a heatwave forecasted to hit England and Wales, all petrol and diesel drivers are being encouraged to fill up their tanks before Tuesday. The Met Office predicts temperatures soaring above 30°C, with some areas, like London, potentially seeing mid-30s.

Why is this important? Warm weather means your car’s fuel levels can drop quicker than usual, making it tricky to gauge when you’ll need to refuel. Running low on petrol during a heatwave isn’t ideal, especially if you find yourself stuck in a traffic jam. So, it’s best to head to the petrol station sooner rather than later.

Tom Crabtree from the Met Office highlights that the heatwave will kick off in the first half of the week, with temperatures peaking on Tuesday. While most areas will bask in warmth, northwest Scotland is set for a slightly cooler start with frequent showers. However, temperatures there will pick up from Tuesday onwards.

Prepare for some potential thundery outbreaks in southern and western areas on Monday night, while Wednesday and Thursday might bring more widespread showers. Despite this, most areas will enjoy dry and warm days.
So, play it safe, top up your fuel, and sail through the hot spell without a hitch. Stay cool on the roads, and enjoy the sunshine! 🌞🚗⛽
