🚧 **Are These the Crookedest Yellow Lines in Britain?** 🚧

In Old Hunstanton, Norfolk, the newly painted double yellow lines have caused quite a stir—and not for the reasons you’d expect! Just before the summer holidays, fresh lines were added to help tackle cheeky parking, but they’ve turned out to be as straight as a dog’s hind leg. Some lines hilariously crisscross over residents’ driveways and seem more like a modern art piece than parking control!
Locals couldn’t resist having a giggle, with one villager quipping the painters “must have been p***** when they painted them.”

Nick Eastwell, the parish council chairman, explained the need for new restrictions due to visitors dodging the £10-a-day fee at nearby Cliff Top car park, thereby clogging up village lanes. While the parking solution was welcomed, the execution was less than impressive. He admitted, “The first attempt did not enhance the look of the village.”

Good old Norfolk County Council has acknowledged the blunder. They’ve ordered a free do-over, ensuring these lines will soon be up to scratch. Highways conceded the work fell short of their standards and have promised urgent remedial action.
Fingers crossed it won’t be long before Old Hunstanton has tidy lines again, ready to guide both vehicles and visitors alike!
