A shocking night out turned violent at Bar 46 in Aberystwyth, leaving one woman needing hospital care after a brutal attack. Stafford Jones, who didn’t know his victim, knocked her out with a powerful blow following a heated exchange in the pub. The altercation ended with the woman unconscious and needing stitches for a nasty gash on her mouth.

Jones faced Swansea Crown Court, where his lengthy history of violent and drug-related offences was revealed. The judge had stern words, calling Jones a “coward” and urging him to consider what his actions meant for his role as a father to two young girls. Jones acknowledged he acted like an “idiot” and accepted that he shouldn’t have reacted so aggressively.
After claiming the victim was abusive and threatening, Jones expressed remorse for his excessive response. At 30, he is now serving a 22-month prison sentence, with the hope that this time behind bars might lead him to a brighter path for the sake of his daughters. In prison, he’s found work in a café and joined an addiction programme, determined to turn over a new leaf.

Let this be a reminder of how one night out can go terribly wrong and the importance of keeping cool in heated situations. Stay safe out there!
