With the big day abroad requiring more than just a fancy outfit, many are taking measures to manage their expenses. So, what’s the verdict on gifts?
💸 Fifty-nine percent of wedding-goers think couples shouldn’t expect gifts if they’re whisking guests away to foreign shores. After all, between flights, hotels, and holiday spending, the costs add up. The average guest is ready to shell out up to £795, and 42% draw the line at £1,000.
To keep the spending in check, some Brits are opting out of hen or stag dos, re-wearing outfits, giving smaller presents, or even bunking up with mates to save on accommodation. But despite these hacks, 40% are still dipping into savings, and nearly 1 in 5 have turned to credit cards or loans.
🌍 Despite the financial pinch, destination weddings continue to charm with their promise of travel and unique experiences. But perhaps it’s time to skip the gift guilt? After all, the memories will last a lifetime, and that’s the best gift of all. 💕
