🏆 Cardiff City is on to the next round of the Carabao Cup after a thrilling 2-1 win over Swindon Town! 🔵⚽️ Thanks to impressive goals from Welsh stars Cian Ashford and Rubin Colwill, the Bluebirds soared at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The match got off to an exciting start with City dominating early on. After several close calls, Ashford gave Cardiff the lead, tapping in from close range after some slick team play. Not wanting to be left out, Colwill doubled Cardiff’s tally with an outstanding free-kick that sailed into the top corner, leaving the Swindon goalie with no chance!
But the League Two side wasn’t going down without a fight. Swindon’s Princewill Ehibhatiomhan made things interesting midway through the second half by narrowing the score with a well-taken goal. From that moment on, it was game on!
The tension mounted as Swindon pushed hard to equalise, giving Cardiff’s defence some nervy moments. Fortunately, the Bluebirds managed to hold their ground, thanks to some crucial defensive plays and a bit of luck on their side.
With manager Barry-Murphy fielding a stronger team than many anticipated, Cardiff showed their intent to progress in the competition. There’s still room for improvement, particularly in defence, but this win keeps Barry-Murphy’s unbeaten run at the club intact.
