Arri Baker’s wish for a brighter smile is now possible thanks to a change in his curfew conditions. Currently on bail awaiting trial for affray, Baker has received permission from Swansea Crown Court to jet off to Turkey for some essential dental repairs. Initially, he was scheduled to fly out on July 7, but an unexpected arrest related to an alleged disturbance in Port Talbot kept him grounded. Despite denying any involvement in the incident, the 23-year-old from Earlswood Cottages, Neath, will face trial next May.
Steve Burnell, Baker’s attorney, successfully argued that finding a dentist in Wales to repair work originally done in Turkey wasn’t possible. Armed with documented appointments for the Turkish clinic, Baker secured a temporary five-night lift of his curfew from Judge Paul Thomas KC, enabling him to pursue the dental fix he’s been waiting for.
