Wrexham’s very own Ollie Palmer has proven his mettle after a shaky period with the club! Last season, Palmer found himself on the sidelines following a tough decision by manager Phil Parkinson. With new arrivals like Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez joining the front line, Palmer was encouraged to seek opportunities elsewhere. But he’s not letting go of his Wrexham dream just yet!

At 33, Palmer has been a key player since 2022, scoring 46 goals in 156 appearances, helping the Dragons rise through the ranks. Even amid the gloom of being out of favour, Palmer’s resilience shone through during the recent EFL Cup match against Hull City. Wrexham was trailing 3-1 until the 90th minute, but Palmer’s two sensational stoppage-time headers took them to a thrilling penalty shootout, where he confidently converted from the spot, sealing a memorable 5-3 victory.

With the new signing Kieffer Moore picking up an injury, Palmer’s prospects of returning to regular play might just be on the up. Reflecting on his challenging times, Palmer said, “Football isn’t always rosy. You just have to stay professional and show your character.” This fighting spirit is exactly why he’s loved by fans and teammates alike.

Despite a potential record-breaking £10 million deal for forward Nathan Broadhead looming, and eagerly-anticipated matches like the upcoming game against Preston North End, Palmer remains hopeful: “I’ve been through a lot with this club. I’ll give everything I’ve got whenever my chance comes.”
Cheer on Palmer and the Wrexham team as they continue their journey in the Championship. Could this be a new chapter in Palmer’s story at the Racecourse Ground? Stay tuned and show your support for our tenacious Red Dragons! 🔴🐉 #WrexhamAFC #OlliePalmer #NeverGiveUp
