Fast forward to today, Dylan is not just cancer-free but also gearing up for a music degree at the University of South Wales! 🎸🎤

Dylan’s journey with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system, was a shock. One moment he was playing bass with his band, and the next, he was navigating hospital corridors. But friends, family, and the power of music kept him going.

“I was feeling well enough to play a gig, so it was a weird one. A week later, I had a cancer diagnosis – it was a lot,” Dylan recalls. With swift medical intervention and the love of his bandmates and choir, Dylan’s treatment was successful. “I’m thankfully now cancer-free and looking forward to university,” he shares.

His mum, Sian, reflects on the trying times: “It was like a bad dream for us, but we’re so proud of how he stayed positive.” She thanks Coleg y Cymoedd and the incredible medical staff who supported Dylan throughout his journey, including vocal coach Benn Willis, who continued lessons online during Dylan’s treatment.

Dylan’s ready to dive into the vibrant world of music at university this September, hoping to carve out a career in the industry he loves. He doesn’t just play music; he lives it.

Join us in celebrating Dylan’s triumphant spirit and wishing him the best on his new chapter! 🥳🎉 Keep strumming, Dylan!
