Legendary Welsh rugby star Jonathan ‘Jiffy’ Davies is gearing up for an inspiring challenge once again! 🚴♂️ This time, it’s not just about the game but the greater battle against cancer. As the President of Velindre Cancer Charity, Jiffy has poured his heart into raising awareness and funds for a cause that hits close to home, following personal losses to the disease.

Having raised over £50 million for Velindre, Jiffy’s commitment isn’t slowing down. Despite a tough year filled with significant surgeries—a full knee replacement and a major back operation involving a metal cage—he’s determined to join over 300 cyclists on a 50-mile ride from Cardiff to Swansea. It’s an event that not only tests his resilience but also his unyielding spirit to support cancer patients and their families.

The route may be as challenging as Jiffy’s journey back to fitness, with hot weather adding to the difficulty, but he remains undeterred. “I haven’t prepared as well as I’d like, but I’m back on the bike, taking it slow, and enjoying the day,” he shares. His drive is fuelled by the love and support of fellow riders, including rugby icons Alun Wyn Jones, James Hook, and Dwayne Peel.

Velindre Cancer Charity is poised for growth, with plans for a new centre in Coryton by 2027, and Jiffy’s mission is to continue fueling that expansion. “Cancer rates are on the rise, affecting more lives. I’m committed to helping those battling this disease and their loved ones,” he emphasises.
Let’s cheer Jiffy on as he pedals for progress and takes a stand against cancer. Every mile counts, every effort matters, and together, let’s hope for a brighter, healthier future. 🌟💪❤️
