You can now charge up at three town centre car parks thanks to new rapid chargers installed by the council. 🚗🔋 Swing by Aberdare Library car park, Tonypandy lower car park, or Pontypridd’s Goods Yard car park, and enjoy a quick recharge while shopping or dining.
This initiative is part of the council’s ambitious goal to be carbon-neutral by 2030. Since May 2022, they’ve installed 76 EV chargers across 65 locations with a little help from regional and national partners. And this is just the beginning—they’re making sure 90% of residents are within a mile of a charger by the decade’s end.
Councillor Maureen Webber is thrilled with the progress, saying these chargers make EV use more practical for everyone. So whether you’re zipping around town or planning a day out, your EV can get a top-up in about an hour. Plus, these installations are popping up everywhere—from community centres to parks.
