🚨 Tragic news from Lincolnshire: A reckless driver, Natasha Allarakhia, has been jailed for 10 years after a devastating crash that claimed the lives of two teenagers last year.

Driving her Audi Q2 at breakneck speeds of up to 96mph while allegedly sipping on a lager, Allarakhia slammed into a stationary Ford Fiesta on A17 Newark Road. This heartbreaking incident resulted in the deaths of 17-year-old William Ray and 18-year-old Eddie Shore, who had just completed their A-levels.

The court heard that Allarakhia was “literally drinking and driving” and even lied to police at the scene, claiming someone else was behind the wheel. Her two young daughters were present in the car during this horrific event.
Judge James House KC handed down the sentence, also disqualifying her from driving for over 12 years and requiring an extended retest. While not legally over the alcohol limit, the judge made it clear that her drinking wasn’t the primary cause of the collision. In court, a remorseful Allarakhia expressed her sorrow as she faced the grieving families.
The tragic impact on the families is immeasurable. Eddie’s mum, Kerri Foster, expressed her heartbreak, describing Eddie as someone “everybody loved,” while William’s mum, Sarah Barker, said losing Will was like losing part of her identity, as he was always by her side.
Prosecutor David Eager highlighted that William displayed exemplary behaviour by not drinking before driving and responsibly using the handbrake at the traffic lights.
Despite her earlier disqualification for unrelated speeding offences, Allarakhia was described in court as someone who “doesn’t really concentrate” and had been drinking earlier in the day of the crash.
Her defence argued that she is genuinely remorseful and has no intention of ever driving again. This tragic story serves as a harsh reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and the irreversible consequences it can bring. ❤️🩹
Stay safe out there, everyone. Always drive responsibly. 🛑
