π Exciting GCSE News for Wales! π


Congratulations to all students in Wales receiving their GCSE results today! π This year, the top grades have shown a slight increase, with 19.5% of candidates achieving A* to A grades! π More than 60% of students scored A* to C, showcasing a promising future for Welsh education.

Despite a small dip in entries, over 96% passed overall – an impressive feat considering the disruptions of recent years. πͺ Maths and English see strong performances, as more than half of the candidates secured A* to C grades. Notably, in the sciences, top grades are shining bright, with nearly 45% reaching A*-A in physics! π
The Welsh Baccalaureate also saw success, with 98% of students achieving the qualification. The dedication and hard work of students, teachers, and parents have truly paid off. π
Education Minister Lynne Neagle praised the achievements: “Strong results at our top grades reflect a positive momentum in our schools.” π
