Tragic News: Jade Damarell, a 32-year-old marketing manager and experienced skydiver, has died after deliberately not deploying her parachutes during a jump from 15,500ft. Her decision came the day after a relationship ended, as revealed in a recent inquest. Known for her love of skydiving with over 500 jumps under her belt, Jade tragically turned off her automatic activation device and left behind instructions on her phone, indicating her intent to take her own life.

Coroner Leslie Hamilton concluded this was a suicide, sharing that Jade left notes for her family and details of her finances. Those close to her described Jade as brilliant and adventurous, her warmth leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met. Dr Hamilton did not elaborate on the circumstances of her relationship’s end, other than noting a shared passion for skydiving with her ex-partner. Just a day before the incident, Jade successfully completed six jumps without any problem.

Skydiving safety investigators confirmed all equipment was in working order, and post-mortem results showed no signs of alcohol or drugs. At the time of her death, Jade was not on any medication. Her story has touched many, serving as a reminder of the silent battles some may face. Our deepest condolences go out to Jade’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
