Amidst bittersweet emotions, students of St Clare’s School in Porthcawl celebrated their last-ever GCSE results day before the school closes its doors in December. The independent school, renowned for its academic excellence, announced its closure earlier this year, leaving staff, pupils, and parents in shock.
In this final chapter, St Clare’s proudly reported “outstanding” results: a 100% pass rate, with half the grades at A* to A, and 96% at A* to C. The headteacher expressed immense pride in the pupils’ achievements, recognising the results as a lasting legacy of the school’s commitment to excellence, creativity, and resilience.
Among the remarkable scores, noteworthy accolades were given to Elin, Elodie, Genevieve, Grace, Hafsah, Harrison, Martha, and Wren, each achieving nine or more A*/A grades. The school excelled across various subjects, boasting 100% A* in additional maths.
