Iconic comedian and beloved artist, Sir Billy Connolly, has just released four stunning new artworks as part of his “Born On A Rainy Day” series. At 82, the Glasgow legend is taking art lovers on a nostalgic journey through some of his fondest memories.
Among these vibrant pieces, “Saturday Night” stands out, capturing the flamboyant energy of a piano player reminiscent of Sir Elton John himself. Reflecting on his experiences touring with the Rocket Man in the 70s, Sir Billy recalls, “He’d backheel the stool right off stage, and the roadies would dive to catch it. Elton’s still got it – an amazing performer!”
Since hanging up his mic in 2018, Sir Billy has poured his heart into art. His latest works include “Sausage Tree,” a nod to his childhood, “Sunburned,” portraying a sun-kissed Scotsman, and “Fly Away Peter,” which features a kaleidoscope of birds. “I’ve finally learned to call my art beautiful. I can make people smile and feel happy,” he beams.
But it’s not all paint and laughter; Sir Billy recently warned fans of online scammers impersonating him and his wife, Pamela Stephenson, using AI. Stay alert, fans!
