A tragic incident unfolded in Cardiff as a woman in her 30s sadly passed away, prompting a murder investigation. Police were alerted on Thursday morning to South Morgan Place where they found a seriously injured woman. Despite paramedics’ efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Following the incident, a 37-year-old man, known to the victim, was arrested on Seawall Road and is now in custody. Authorities aren’t seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
Residents were startled by the sudden police presence; one neighbour speaking out said they heard a scream but initially thought it was just children playing. Police knocked on doors seeking information and surveillance footage as they cordoned off the area to conduct their investigation.
The police are making an urgent appeal for any witnesses or those with dashcam footage, especially involving a grey Ford Fiesta seen nearby. South Wales Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the South Morgan Place or Seawall Road areas around the time of the incident.
