Dakota isn’t your average schoolgirl; she’s a dance sensation gearing up to dazzle millions. Having just cleared her first audition stage with an unforgettable video submission, she’s off to London to possibly perform in front of judges like Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon. And if the rumours are true, YouTube star KSI might even be stepping in as a judge this time! 🤩
But Dakota’s journey is about more than just her incredible dance moves. As someone who is autistic and has ADHD, she’s turning what some see as challenges into her superpowers. “Being neurodivergent doesn’t hold you back — it’s a superpower,” she shares, aiming to inspire others to embrace who they are.
Dancing has been her passion since she was little, a vibrant outlet that allows her to express herself fully. Her mum, Clare-Anna, recalls: “Dakota’s been moving since she was a baby! It’s amazing to see how she channels her energy into dance.”
The piece that got her through the auditions is an emotional portrayal related to the 9/11 attacks, which she was inspired to create after watching a documentary. Every movement she makes is packed with emotion, making her performance truly unique for someone so young.
Preparing for this big moment, Dakota has been training hard with her dance teacher Mel at RAIE Copp Academy and perfecting her routines wherever she can — even in her garden! 🌸
As the big day on 6th September approaches, Dakota’s excitement is palpable, especially at the thought of meeting Ant and Dec and the judges. “I just want to thank them for this amazing opportunity. Performing on this stage means the world to me,” she says.
