🚛 Big News for Wrexham Residents! 🚛

Great news for all of us who were worried about the looming bin strikes in Wrexham – they’ve been called off! 🎉 After some positive negotiations between Wrexham Council and Unite, no strike action will take place, ensuring that our waste and recycling collections continue without a hitch.

Earlier this month, waste collectors voted for 13 days of industrial action due to changes in their work patterns, which would have impacted pay on bank holidays. The council’s plan to swap bank holiday collections to Saturdays didn’t sit well with the workers, leading to heated discussions.
But, thanks to hard work and dialogue, both sides found common ground. This means no disruption for us as services roll on as planned this Saturday. 🌟
The council and Unite are now focusing on building a stronger relationship and have opened up a consultation about future changes, with both sides committed to keeping things smooth for Wrexham citizens. 🏘️
Unite’s General Secretary, Sharon Graham, applauded the efforts of all involved, highlighting that union membership truly pays off in protecting workers’ rights. Meanwhile, Alwyn Jones from Wrexham Council expressed satisfaction that services will continue without interruption.
Stay tuned for more updates as the council and unions work together to ensure fair working conditions and seamless services for everyone! 🙌
