From bin bags to cardboard, and even some plates entirely removed, it seems like a rebellion against the ANPR cameras that track car park entry and exit times.
Sam Peters, visiting from Worcester, snapped some evidence of these makeshift disguises. He said, “Several vehicles had their registration plates concealed in protest.” It’s a clear sign of the frustration with private companies managing public spaces and the toll it takes on locals and tourists alike.
Social media quickly buzzed with reactions. One supporter exclaimed, “Good on them! These parking companies are just crooks.” Another chimed in, “Locals can’t even catch a morning surf without worrying about a ticket.”
