🚫 Not eligible if you:
1. Live outside England and Wales
2. Were in hospital for free treatment throughout the week of 15-21 September 2025 (and the previous year)
3. Need permission to enter the UK and cannot claim public funds
4. Were in prison during the same week

🏠 Plus, if you’re in a care home and receive certain benefits like Universal Credit, Pension Credit, or JSA, you might miss out too, especially if you’ve been living there since June 2025 or earlier.

💡 If your income tops £35,000, HMRC will reclaim your payment by tweaking your tax code or adjusting your Self Assessment.

In addition, starting 1st October, the energy price cap is set to rise by 2%! For typical households, that’s a tiny monthly bump of £2.93. Be ready to see the average energy bill rise to £1,755 per year, but it’s still significantly lower than early 2023 when costs soared.
