Exciting times ahead as a group of Welsh healthcare professionals lace up their boots for the ‘Eurospital’ football tournament in Swansea, set for Saturday, 6th September! 🌟🏆 This unique competition brings together teams from across Europe, all comprised of healthcare workers, home to Wales’ very own collection of skilled GPs and clinicians.
Kicking off in 1993 in Picardie, France, what began as a casual match among healthcare professionals has blossomed into an annual European gathering combining friendly rivalry with a collegial spirit. Wales first joined the fray in 2019, with Bridgend-born anaesthetist Paul Carter leading the charge. Last year, our team reached an impressive 4th place in Portugal, and now we’re thrilled to host the tournament on home turf!
International teams from Germany, Croatia, the Netherlands, and France are set to compete, alongside the home nations: England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. Held at the Llandarcy Academy Of Sport and with all participants staying at The Village Hotel in Swansea, it’s bound to be a tournament to remember.
