Aldi is proving once again why it’s the go-to spot, not just for budget-friendly groceries but also for top-notch staff wages! 🚀 Starting September 1st, the German supermarket giant is implementing a new 2p rule and giving its staff a surprise pay rise. This means store assistants’ salaries are jumping from £12.75 to £13.02 per hour! 💸

The pay bump keeps Aldi ahead of the pack, a title they’re proud to defend against the competition, including Lidl and others. Over 28,000 hourly-paid colleagues across the UK will benefit from this boost, and new rates in London are reaching £14.35 per hour, with potential increases up to £14.66 based on service length.

But that’s not all. Aldi is the only retailer out there offering all its employees paid breaks, adding approximately £1,425 a year to the average colleague’s pocket!
CEO Giles Hurley has made it clear: “Our colleagues are at the heart of our success, and we’re committed to ensuring they are fully rewarded for the outstanding work they do.” This extra pay rise further cements Aldi’s promise to never be outdone on staff wages.
