**Political Mail Blunder: Reform UK Slammed on Day of MS’s Funeral**

In a move that has sparked outrage, Reform UK faced criticism for an untimely leaflet drop on the day of Labour MS Hefin David’s funeral. The leaflet, featuring Nigel Farage, landed on doorsteps in Caerphilly, sparking accusations of insensitivity and disrespect.
The leaflet arrived as hundreds gathered to honour Mr David at St Catwg’s Church. It contained messages criticising Labour’s stance on jobs, the NHS, and immigration, while asking for donations and support. David Bezzina, a pallbearer and family friend of the late MS, discovered one such leaflet after returning home from the funeral, describing it as lacking “common decency and respect.”

Amid the backlash, a source from Reform apologised, explaining the timing was unintentional due to postal delays. However, other political parties, including Labour, Conservatives, and Plaid Cymru, halted their campaigns to pay respects.
Conservative Richard John revealed other residents received the leaflet the same day. He criticised Reform’s timing, stating it was “incredibly insensitive” for campaign materials to circulate when the community was in mourning.
While Reform UK has yet to officially respond to the criticism, a spokesperson noted their intent to “fight with everything” to win the upcoming by-election sparked by Mr David’s passing.

Voters in Caerphilly now await announcements from Plaid Cymru, Labour, and the Conservatives about their by-election candidates.
