Exciting developments are on the horizon for Bridgend! Plans for 62 affordable flats at Sunnyside House have been submitted. This new project promises to bring vibrant living spaces to the heart of the town, nestled between Angel Street and Sunnyside Road. If approved, we’ll see an impressive five-storey L-shaped building rise, complete with 30 car parking spaces and room for 40 bicycles.

This initiative, driven by housing association Linc Cymru, is part of a revised plan, initially proposing 65 flats in two blocks back in 2022. Now, the focus has shifted to creating a single complex, strategically located near the civic offices and the bustling town centre. The development is tailor-made, featuring 62 one-bedroom apartments, including two accessible homes.

The proposal includes the demolition of the old Water Board offices, paving the way for this brand-new living space. Plus, plans for sustainable drainage, landscape planting, and additional infrastructure are also in the mix to make this area a budding urban hub.
In addition to the Bridgend project, Linc Cymru is eyeing another exciting opportunity in Porthcawl. A plan to build 44 affordable apartments on the historic site of the former Fulgoni’s Café is also in the pipeline.
Stay tuned to see how these projects unfold, promising not only to enhance local living conditions but also to revitalise the areas with modern, sustainable solutions. 🌆🏢✨
