Wayne Rooney shares a hilarious story from back in the day when he and his wife Coleen had a dinner at David and Victoria Beckham’s place in Madrid. Picture this: Rooney, barely 19 and fresh onto the international scene, finds himself at the Beckhams’ lavish home, feeling like he’s stepped into a parallel universe. Along for this unforgettable ride were fellow England player, Frank Lampard, and a handful of other football mates.

Rooney reminisces on his new BBC podcast about the time he unintentionally made a young Brooklyn Beckham cry. In what sounds like a scene from a comedy, Rooney opened a door and accidentally bumped young Brooklyn’s head. “He started crying,” Rooney recalls. “I thought, ‘oh Jesus Christ!’” Safe to say, the night was off to a memorable start.

As they finally sat down for dinner, Rooney was surprised it wasn’t the fancy culinary spread you’d expect from a global football legend and a pop icon. Instead, it was all about kebabs! Rooney adds that Victoria Beckham turned out to be much funnier than people give her credit for, making the not-so-posh dinner even more enjoyable.
Rooney’s story gives us a peek behind the curtain at the lighter, down-to-earth side of these larger-than-life celebrities. Anyone else finding themselves suddenly craving kebabs? 🍢
And who knew Beckham’s home was the scene of such a chuckle-worthy mishap? Would love to hear more of these stories, Wayne!
