A night out in Ebbw Vale turned terrifying when Delme Cheese, 25, launched a vicious attack on a woman, leaving her with serious injuries. This shocking incident unfolded after Cheese grabbed her by the throat, brutally punching and kicking her, and ripping her clothes—a horrifying attempt to make her feel “violated”. The assault was so severe that the victim ended up with a swollen face, a cut to her cheek, and bruises.

Even when onlookers intervened, the violence didn’t stop. When the police arrived, Cheese turned his aggression towards them, kicking an officer during his arrest. Despite his claims that he was initially attacked, Cheese admitted to assaulting the woman and an emergency worker. His record shows a history of violence, including previous assaults on both emergency workers and women.

During sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court, Judge Paul Hobson described the attack as a brutal beating, sentencing Cheese to 16 months behind bars. The judge emphasised the serious nature of his actions, saying the victim’s injuries were unmistakable evidence of the assault.
Let this be a reminder of the importance of standing against violence and supporting those affected. Our thoughts are with the victim, as she recovers from this traumatic experience. Let’s hope for a swift recovery and justice for all involved. Stay safe and stand strong, everyone. 🕊️
