Exciting news for Cardiff! π Prince William is set to touch down at the Principality Stadium this Wednesday, marking a significant moment for mental health support in Wales. The visit coincides with World Suicide Prevention Day as the Prince joins the launch of a new mental health hub, thanks to the efforts of the Jac Lewis Foundation.

This charity, named after the beloved Ammanford footballer Jac Lewis, who tragically passed away in 2019, is on a mission to provide rapid mental health support across Wales. The event promises to be a beacon of hope for those in need, offering a safe haven where individuals can seek professional wellbeing and mental health services right within their community.

During his visit, Prince William will meet with Jacβs family, friends, and teammates from Ammanford FC. Heβll also engage in discussions with the Welsh Rugby Union and Swansea City FC about harnessing the power of sport to promote mental wellbeing. This collaboration is backed by The Royal Foundation, ensuring that the hub can offer one day per week of vital services over the next three years.
With over 7,000 lives lost to suicide in the UK each year, initiatives like this are more essential than ever. The new hub aims to build on current mental health programmes in Ammanford and Swansea, bringing crucial support closer to home for many.
