Heartbreaking Injustice: Mandy Russell’s Story

Imagine being attacked so brutally that you wake up in a police car, desperately crying for your mum. That’s the reality Mandy Russell faced after a night out turned into a nightmare in Hornchurch, Essex. Mandy’s boyfriend dragged her through the streets, beat her unconscious, and tried to strangle her. It was only thanks to a vigilant Uber driver that the police were alerted.

The most shocking part? Despite pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent, her ex was released just two months after his sentencing! Mandy, still recovering from her horrific injuries, is rightfully furious. Two broken teeth, bleeding ears and eyes, and countless bruises—a reminder of a justice system that let her down.
Mandy wants her story to serve as a wake-up call about the failings of a system that doesn’t do enough to protect victims. “These men deserve to be behind bars,” she insists, highlighting the severity of strangulation and suffocation in domestic abuse.
She’s urging women everywhere to use Clare’s Law—a tool that lets you check if a partner has a history of domestic abuse. “It can save a girl’s life,” she warns. Mandy’s bravery in sharing her story is a plea for change. Let’s hope it sparks a much-needed conversation about justice and safety for all victims of domestic abuse. 💔
Check out her journey of survival as she turns her pain into a call for reform and awareness. It’s time for the system to change, for the sake of Mandy and every other woman who suffers in silence. #JusticeForMandy #StopDomesticAbuse #TimeForChange
