Ryan Lewis, 28, who was caught with a stash of Class A drugs including cocaine, MDMA, LSD, and ketamine, has been ordered by Cardiff Crown Court to cough up £18,000. His exploits also included possessing thousands in cash.

It all began on the streets of Cardiff when police stopped Lewis in a rented Ford Focus last Halloween after witnessing a suspicious exchange in the Cathays area. A quick search revealed drugs hidden in his clothing and £140 in cash on him. As if that wasn’t enough, a more thorough search at the police station and his home led to the discovery of multiple grip-seal bags with even more drugs and messages indicating his involvement in drug supply.

Despite his so-called “positive childhood”, Lewis’s actions have landed him in hot water. He pleaded guilty to several charges of possession with intent to supply. In court, it was revealed he was motivated by financial gain.

Judge Hywel James handed down a 28-month prison sentence earlier this year, and now the Proceeds of Crime Act hearing has determined his criminal benefits totaled £23,581. With assets valued at £18,088, he’s been given three months to repay the sum.
