Meet Hannah Brier, an inspiring youth worker from Neath Port Talbot who’s been harbouring a thrilling secret! By day, she’s transforming the lives of young people battling homelessness and mental health challenges. But by night, she’s a dedicated 400m athlete, and her kids recently discovered this double life via a cheeky Google search.

As she’s packing for a friend’s wedding in Turkey, a surprise call throws her plans into a spin. Hannah’s been selected for the UK’s 4x400m relay squad at the World Championships in Tokyo! Goodbye holiday, hello World Stage!

Despite the whirlwind, Hannah remains committed to her young charges, ensuring they understand her brief absence. “They were amazed,” she laughs, “saying, ‘This is why you’re so positive!’”
Her journey wasn’t always easy. After injuries and personal struggles post-2022 Commonwealth Games, she nearly hung up her spikes. But a pivot to the 400m, spurred by a desire for new challenges, rekindled her passion. “It’s been the best decision ever,” she beams, now aiming to follow in the footsteps of her brother, Joe, a relay silver medallist.
Hannah’s story is a testament to resilience, balance, and the power of chasing dreams, on and off the track. Let’s cheer her on in Tokyo! 🏃♀️🇬🇧
