🎶 Exciting times in Cardiff as the iconic St David’s Hall marks a new chapter! After being closed for over two years due to structural concerns, this beloved music and arts venue is set to make a grand comeback. 🎸

The Academy Music Group (AMG), known for its extensive experience in managing music venues, has inked a deal with Cardiff Council to breathe new life into St David’s Hall. Although we don’t have a reopening date just yet, rest assured the future looks bright with plans to uphold its legacy as a world-class venue.

AMG promises to keep St David’s Hall at the heart of Cardiff’s vibrant music scene, investing significantly in refurbishments including a new roof and upgraded seating to accommodate various show formats, all while maintaining those famous acoustics. ðŸŽ

What’s more, classical music lovers can rejoice with a minimum of 60 key days of events each year, plus extra slots outside the peak calendar. The BBC Cardiff Singer of the World event will also return every other year. 🎻
Liam Boylan, CEO of AMG, is thrilled about this opportunity, saying that Cardiff’s thriving music and arts scene will soon see one of its most cherished venues restored to its former glory and beyond. 💫
The grand restoration, potentially costing up to £69 million, also includes caring for the venue’s historic organ and introducing three new Steinway pianos. Plus, a partnership with local classical music organisations is on the cards to ensure St David’s Hall remains a cornerstone of community and education programming.
Cllr Jennifer Burke highlighted the immense cultural significance of this project, promising a venue that will host exciting contemporary performances while still honouring its classical heritage. 🎤
Stay tuned for updates and get ready to rediscover St David’s Hall—your go-to spot for unforgettable concerts and cultural events! 🎶✨
