Heavy rain on Sunday afternoon led to incredible flash flooding at the Cwmbwrla roundabout, leaving cars completely submerged under water. In an intense clip captured by Sarah Nichols, you can see the vehicles struggling in the overwhelming water. Authorities are urging travelers to avoid the area as roads are impassable with diversions in place via Pentregethin Road.
The turbulent weather doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon, with a 22-hour yellow weather warning for wind issued by the Met Office. Brace yourselves as strong winds are expected right through until Monday evening. 🌬️
But that’s not all. Natural Resources Wales has issued several flood warnings across south-west Wales. This includes the river Dafen at Trostre, where properties in the Trostre Industrial Park, Lower Trostre Road and parts of Trostre Retail Park are at risk. 🌊
Eight flood alerts are also in effect for areas including the River Ewenny, River Neath, Rivers Loughor and Amman, Rivers Gwendraeths, and more. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected, so stay alert if you’re in these areas. 📣
