A shocking incident in Oldbury has led to the arrest of a man in his 30s, following a report of a racially motivated attack on a young Sikh woman. She was making her way to work when she was subjected to a horrific assault, where reportedly, she was told, “you don’t belong in this country, get out.”

Taking place in the Tame Road area, this appalling attack has prompted a swift response from West Midlands Police. The authorities are still actively searching for another suspect involved in this crime. Chief Superintendent Kim Madill acknowledged the community’s support, urging the public not to speculate as investigations continue.

Despite enduring such distress, her words highlighted the incredible support system surrounding her. “I would never wish this on anyone,” she shared, applauding the efforts of the police and the unwavering support of her family and friends.

Gurinder Singh Josan, the local Labour MP for Smethwick, described the incident as a “truly horrific attack” and confirmed it’s being treated as a hate crime.
