Tragic news from Aberdare – Jason Lee Davies, 55, was found dead at home after discharging himself from hospital twice against medical advice. Despite efforts from hospital staff and police who visited him on October 28 due to welfare concerns, Jason continued to struggle with alcohol dependency. He had been receiving support from the community drug and alcohol team but sadly couldn’t overcome his addiction.

Coroner Kerrie Burge states there was no evidence Jason intended to take his own life, but chronic alcohol consumption had already damaged his body. The mix of continued drinking led to his coma and subsequent death. The inquest revealed causes of death as alcohol consumption coupled with other health issues like malnutrition and emphysema.

Originally from Amersham, Buckinghamshire, Jason’s story is a sobering reminder of the impact of alcohol dependency. His untimely death urges us to reflect on the importance of supporting those battling addiction and the significance of seeking and adhering to medical advice. Let’s all take a moment to think about how we can support those around us who might be in need. 📷🕊
