Obsessive ex uses Mickey Mouse disguise to harass former partner into rekindling relationship

In a shocking case from Swansea Crown Court, 35-year-old Philip Solomon was sentenced for relentlessly stalking his ex-partner with a rather unusual twist. Despite having a non-molestation order against him, Solomon couldn’t let go, resorting to bombarding his ex with calls and messages, even adopting a “Mickey Mouse” voice during phone calls. He was determined to win her back, stating, “I want you back and I won’t stop until I do.”

This wasn’t just the odd call here and there. Solomon reached out multiple times using fake Snapchat accounts and withheld phone numbers, leaving his former partner feeling trapped in a terrifying cycle of fear. The court heard that Solomon even used his ex’s sister’s email to continue his unwanted advances. His former partner bravely shared how his actions have left her feeling watched, controlled, and stripped of her freedom.

Despite previous convictions and receiving a restraining order, Solomon showed no signs of stopping. His defence argued that his actions stem from an inability to deal with break-ups, possibly linked to deeper issues. However, Judge Catherine Richards made it clear there was currently no realistic chance of rehabilitation, sentencing Solomon to 20 months in prison, with the possibility of parole halfway through.
