Brides-to-be, are you dreaming of a wedding dress that’s as unique as your love story? Meet Samm Buca, the creative force behind Pink Butterfly Brides in Bridgend, a shop where wedding dresses break from tradition and embrace individuality.

Samm’s journey from designing outfits inspired by catwalks in her childhood to showcasing her creations at Paris Fashion Week is a true testament to her passion and perseverance. Raised in Abergavenny, Samm always loved fashion and design. Despite struggles with dyslexia and ADHD, she pursued her dream by studying fashion design at Hereford Art College and designing for friends on the side. This passion eventually blossomed into a full-time business.

At Pink Butterfly Brides, it’s not just about the dress; it’s about making every bride feel at home. If a white gown isn’t your style, don’t fret! Samm’s designs span every colour and style imaginable, from vibrant hues to gothic and boho styles. Her own wedding was a testament to this, featuring a stunning green dress adorned with flowers.
The path to success wasn’t always certain. Leaving her secure job as a postwoman, Samm faced the challenges of running her own business, including launching during a recession. Yet, her authentic approach and creative spirit have drawn brides from all over, eager for dresses that reflect who they truly are.
Samm’s work even gained her a feature on BBC Wales’ ‘The Wedding Shop’, bringing her designs to a wider audience and cementing her reputation as a designer who truly understands the modern bride.
Samm loves being part of each bride’s special day, seeing the joy on their faces as they find the perfect dress that captures their personality. For Samm, wedding dresses are more than fabric and thread—they’re an extension of one’s self, proving that in fashion, as in love, the most successful journeys come from staying true to who you are.
