What is a money mule? It’s when individuals are recruited to transfer criminal funds, often without realising the legal risks involved. Beyond this, students are also facing threats of drink spiking, theft, and an increase in recreational ketamine use.

Crimestoppers Wales has launched a crucial campaign to tackle these issues, partnering with universities and student unions to provide valuable resources and online support. Their message is clear: โ€œYour Voice, Your Power.โ€ Students are encouraged to look out for each other, speak up, and report suspicious activities anonymously.

Other disturbing trends include a 78% rise in fraud cases among under 21s and a shocking 231% surge in youth ketamine use since 2013. Plus, the ongoing cost-of-living crisis means theft of electronic items like phones and laptops is a daily worry.

Here’s how you can help:
๐Ÿ” Stay informed with dedicated resources and our โ€˜Students: stay safeโ€™ webpage.
๐Ÿ“ฑ Follow the campaign on social media for tips and updates.
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Support your peers by speaking up if something seems off. Reports can be made safely and anonymously through Crimestoppers and Fearless, their youth service.

Let’s work together to create safer student environments across Wales. Share this with your mates and keep an eye out for each other!

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Stay safe, stay informed, and most importantly, stay supportive of one another. Together, we can make a difference! ๐Ÿš€
